Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Arthada (operated by Manan Jindal, AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor, ARN: 308707) collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you use arthada.com. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:
- Assessment inputs: age, retirement age, marital status, number and ages of children, monthly income, monthly expenses, monthly EMI, goal amounts (education, home, retirement), current savings, current investments, monthly investment amount.
- Contact data (if you provide it): email address, and any information you share when you contact us or book a call.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, referrer, pages visited, time spent — collected via standard web analytics.
- Onboarding data (only if you choose to invest): data required for KYC and mutual fund onboarding is collected and processed by our distribution partner (ZFunds) under their own privacy terms, not by us.
2. Why we collect it
- To compute your Arthada Score, goal gaps, and SIP recommendations.
- To email your report to you when you request it.
- To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.
- To respond to your questions, complaints, or requests for assistance.
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and SEBI/AMFI requirements.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent (given when you start the assessment or submit your email) and for legitimate purposes connected to delivering the service you have requested. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 7.
4. How long we keep it
- Assessment results without an email: stored in your browser only (sessionStorage). Cleared when the tab closes.
- Assessment results with an email: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted, unless you request deletion sooner.
- Complaint records: retained for at least 5 years as required by AMFI/SEBI norms.
- Technical/analytics data: retained for up to 26 months in aggregated form.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with the following categories of recipients:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel Inc. (USA) for site hosting; database providers for storing leads and results.
- Email delivery: our transactional email provider, used solely to deliver your report and respond to you.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, used to understand aggregate usage patterns.
- Distribution partner (only if you choose to invest): ZFunds, the BSE Star MF-enabled platform used to execute your mutual fund onboarding and transactions. ZFunds collects and processes the data it needs (PAN, bank, KYC documents) directly, under its own privacy terms.
- Regulatory or legal authorities: where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a valid regulatory request.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies (for the assessment to function) and analytics cookies (to measure aggregate usage). You can disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings; the assessment will continue to work.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for further processing.
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity.
- File a grievance through the process at /grievance, or with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@arthada.com with the subject line “Data Request — [your right]”. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and minimal data retention. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities of any significant data breach as required by law.
9. Children's data
Arthada is intended for adult users (18 and above) planning their family's financial future. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Data about a child (e.g. ages for education planning) is provided by an adult planner about their own family and is not used to profile the child.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or via email.
